Why we developed the IC Standards
Modern life rarely measures human capability in a meaningful way. The ultimate measurement is an individuals perceived success in life. Most training focuses on isolated areas - while real-world performance depends on the combination and cohesion of several abilities working together.
Born in elite performance environments - the IC Standards were developed to address this gap.
Trainable, measurable capability that transfers beyond training environments and into real-world situations.
Confidence in capability. Individuals develop a balanced capability
A clear target for development and a structured way to identify and improve their weakest areas.
Reduce the weaknesses that stop people performing when it matters.
IC1 Standard
-
The physical benchmarks assess fundamental work capacity and physical competence.
These include measures of:
Aerobic endurance
Strength relative to bodyweight
Muscular endurance
Aquatic competence
Composure in physically demanding environments
Together they represent a balanced baseline of physical capability.
-
Cognitive assessments evaluate how individuals think and respond under pressure.
These tasks examine:
Decision-making under stress
Composure in uncomfortable environments
Independent problem solving
Spatial awareness and navigation
The aim is to assess whether individuals can remain clear and effective when conditions become challenging.
-
The social component assesses the ability to function effectively within groups.
Individuals are evaluated on:
Clear communication
Composure during debate or disagreement.
Ability to hold an audience.
Ability to assume responsibility in small leadership scenarios
These tasks examine how individuals present themselves and interact with others when placed under scrutiny.
Certification & Recognition
IC1 is evaluated through a structured two day event.
Cohort-based
Status valid for 24 months
Successful individuals are recognised as meeting the IC1 Standard.
Each individual is recorded (at their discretion) on the IC Alumni digital list and issued a unique IC identification number. This number is a gateway to other IC products such as further IC levels or future IC projects.
